| A note from our Director: Dear Parents, Prior to the start of band camp and the '08-'09 school year, I wanted to check in with all of you again. I would like to remind all of you to constantly check the booster's website for frequent booster updates. I would also encourage you to check my courses' website for updates on all of the instrumental music classes. Currently the pages up deal with information distributed at the summer meetings, and greater information regarding SmartMusic. (Click here) Within the next couple of days (hopefully no later than Tuesday afternoon) I will be adding a third page to that site that deals with band camp. There will be some permission slips, health cards, and lists of items to have as well as some other general information regarding the next two weeks. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. They phones at the school are currently undergoing a change in service which is also changing the numbers for the entire PVUSD school district. As a result of this switch over, voicemail has been inaccessible for almost 3 weeks. If you have left a message during that time, I did not get it and so I apologize for not returning any phone calls. Please use e-mail if you can, otherwise the new numbers should be up sometime this week, and hopefully voicemail with it. The new number will be posted on both websites soon. A Note from our Booster
President: Fellow Band & Orchestra Boosters: In addition, I would like to remind everyone in band that the band camp fees are due this week. This will allow us to cover the costs involved in having band camp. Forms with these amounts are posted on the web site. Also, I would like to remind everyone that if you purchase your SmartMusic account by THURSDAY, the 24th, you will save $5 on the one-year membership. Mr. Sbalcio is requiring this for the upcoming year. A link to Smart Music can be found on our band web site. Finally, thanks to those of you who have volunteered for (and worked) at Diamondback games for concessions this season. We hosted three of these over the 4th of July weekend and made about $1200 for the band! We have another 3-day set coming up on August 8,9, and 10. If you are interested in signing up and being a part of the team raising money this summer please contact Eric Murray at murray45@cox.net or Rob Bigley at seminoles@qwest .net.
